Release Notes:
Argon is used in lighting equipment such as bulbs and neon blue lasers
plus it is also used as an asphyxiant for culling huge amounts of
infected chickens in the meat industry. Neither explanation seems to
tie in with this version of Argon with a double-twenty to their name
but they did light up my rainy day with their stomping electronic pop
melange
Pitching somewhere between Dubstar and St Etienne with a slight tinge
of melancholia and Amos scooped on the top, this is an ice-cream cone
of two flavours. "Stay" is a rich pistachio swirl guaranteed to satisfy
most cerebral radio stations and listeners alike (6Music were all over
their previous single). It's a decent enough song but there is a lack
of substance somewhere along the line and the whole thing melts away
rather too quickly. Its partner in cream (sorry) is a cover of "Free
Fallin'", the aural equivalent of strawberry ices - a great idea yet
ultimately rather bland to the palett.
